**ATTENTION: Individuals with motor vehicle registrations expiring after 2/28/09**

As part of the implementation of the new motor vehicle system launched July 1st, 2008, the Department of Motor Vehicles located in Pierre proposed offering online motor vehicle renewals and sending out the vehicle renewal cards at the state level versus the county level. At that time, Minnehaha and Lincoln County were told that we would not be allowed to provide online renewals.

Due to this implementation, individuals with a vehicle expiring after 2/28/09 should visit the state's website
at http://www.sdcars.org or call (605) 773-3541 for additional information.

We would like to thank all of our Minnehaha County customers who have utilized the online County renewal system in the past.
